SHIBARI - Weekend Intensive with Genks / Day 1 : Floor(ish) Pretzels [EN]

Tous les ateliers de shibari hors auto-attache se font par inscription en binôme. Il n'est donc nécessaire de s'inscrire qu'une seule fois par binôme et il n'est pas possible de venir seul.e.

Prerequisites

Person tying: Must have suspension experience, through classes or private tuition. Should be able to manage suspension lines quickly and confidently on single points (Saturday class) and bamboo (Sunday class). This is **not** a beginner's class. Should have knowledge of nerve impingement and blood circulation loss and know how to differentiate the two and how to check for this.

Person being tied: Should have knowledge of nerve impingement and blood circulation loss and know how to differentiate the two and communicate this. Is capable of being in full suspension. Can communicate needs quickly while in suspension.

What You Will Need:

• Rope. A minimum of 8 x 8m lengths of 5-6mm jute or hemp rope suitable for suspension.
• Safety Cutting Tool (EMT shears, rescue hook or similar)
• Comfortable clothing 
• Food and drinks in closed containers (there will be breaks throughout the workshop but not enough time to leave the venue to buy food)
• Something for note-taking
• Energy and Enthusiasm!

Saturday’s workshop will be focussing on bottom led floor rope and making human pretzels on the floor. We will use a variety of exercises to help you and your partner be more creative in your floor work and experimental partials. Learn to collaborate with your rope partner to seek out new shapes and sensations with rope. We will explore connective movement, bottom led tying and the capacity for twisting, contorting and compacting the people we tie. We will also demonstrate how to make finger, toe, hair and face rope accessible for everyone more safely. Symmetry and patterns are banned! The workshop will be a blend of instruction, practical demos, tying and practice so everyone gets a chance to understand and apply these principles and exercises
