Yin yoga is a soft yoga practice based on stillness, release, and relaxation. Yin yoga is characterized by static holds of still floor-based poses for muscle relaxation and myofascial release (MRF), allowing for a meditative focus, self-reflection or at least allowing to “let go” of stored emotions and thoughts, eventually to “surrender” and to find stillness.

Since we store a lot of “things” in the body- emotions, memories, scares, tension, yin yoga helps us remove them, and therefore is a healing practice. Yin yoga focuses on stressing and stimulating the connective tissue (fascia) and joints, calming the mind, nurturing the parasympathetic nervous system, generating body awareness, and allowing to reconnect to oneself while promoting free flow of Qi and fluids in the body. It is above all a practice of relaxation and release. In these classes we will invite small meditations and breath practices to let the mind and body slow down together.

Certified in yin yoga since June 2020, Chris is, next to that, a mum, but also a full-time communication specialist working for the public sector and graduated in journalism & children's rights. Passionate about spirituality - she seeks to understand how we can live our earthly incarnation to the best, and be well and happy in our bodies. She is a fan of music, and concerts, and writes poetry. Her approach to yin yoga is functional and inclusive; there is no such thing as a perfect pose and all bodies are different & welcome. She also uses oracles and tarots during her classes and offers chakra meditation at the start of the class.
